It's #1

Tonight, The Missus and I watched the greatest movie ever: The Shawshank Redemption.  As a fan of both Stephen King and Morgan Freeman, maybe this movie was just right up my alley, but The Missus liked it, too.  And she doesn't like Stephen King.  So anyway--really good movie.  I concur with the IMDb voters.

Even though I'm a bit suspicious of a poll for "Greatest Movie of All-Time" that has "The Dark Knight" at #6, I can't really raise much an argument against "Shawshank" in the top spot.

Well, you know what Guinn says: The answer to speech you disagree with is more speech.

That is, I dare you to vote The Dark Knight badly.

"Dark Knight" AND "Shawshank" are great movies - but in completely different ways. :)

I wouldn't put either one as #1 (or #6). All of my favorite movies were made in or before 1963.

I should clarify that I don't hate "The Dark Knight" at all, and in fact, it was one of the movies I enjoyed the most last year.

It just seems a bit short-sighted for people to vote for it in a poll determining the #1 movie of ALL TIME.
